BeST WeSTern Kachina Lodge
Continuing our reprise of WeSTOC III, the headquarters hotel for WeSTOC XIII will once again be the Best Western Kachina Lodge in Taos.
The Kachina Lodge is ideally located near the world-famous Taos Pueblo and easy access to Rio Grande Gorge River Bridge and Taos Ski valley. There are many local dining and entertainment opportunities close by, including the Taos Mountain Casino.
The lodge features spacious, well-appointed rooms with complimentary high-speed internet access, cable satellite TV, coffee makers and other amenities.
The lodge features a complimentary full breakfast each morning and live entertainment in the evening, as well as an outdoor swimming pool and indoor hot tub.
Secure parking for attendees' STeeds will be provided.
Our negotiated hotel rate for WeSTOC XIII is $69/night. These rates are per room, regardless of the number of occupants. The rate includes a full complementary hot breakfast each day and use of all hotel amenities. Most rooms have a mountain view.
Arrive early, or stay late
The Kachina Lodge has been kind enough to extend our group rate of $69/night to STOC members wishing to arrive a day or two early or stay a day or two late.

From the North: take I-25 South to Walsenburg, then Hwy. 160 to Fort Garland. From there, take Hwy. 159 and Hwy. 522 to Taos. The road will become US64/Paseo del Pueblo Norte. Continue south for approx. 1 mile.
From the south, take I-25 North to Santa Fe, then Exit 182 to St. Francis Drive and onto Highway 285/68 to Taos. Highway 68 will become US64/Paseo del Pueblo Norte in downtown Taos. Continue north 4 blocks from Taos Plaza.

Campers

$12.00 per night for one camper/tent. $6.00 for a second person in said tent. This is a better rate than the previous campground.
They also have a lodge.
There is also a large teepee that will fit all you guys, if you are interested. Less $$$, too, depending on how many of you there are. I like the teepee option, but y'all need to arrange that as the teepee requires a deposit.
The policy is 'alcohol neutral', meaning that they don't care if you drink, just don't go overboard and dance naked under the moonight. And clean up your cans/bottles.
The grounds are in Arroyo Seco, a few miles north of the Kachina.
A word of caution to the campers!!!
New Mexico is notorious for drunk uninsured drivers!!! Use extra caution when travelling back to the campgound from the Kachina after hours.
Since this campground is north of Taos, you shouldn't have any problems.
Those who opt for another location and travel south after dark should use extra extra extra caution.
